How to Change a Flat Tubular or Clincher Tire

Posted: December 13, 2010 in Bicycle, Triathlon

I came across these videos many moons ago, but think they are a great step-by-step for winter time practice.

Fortunately many of us have not YET had to stop our training ride, or heaven forbid been on course during a race and experienced a flat. This is the process to change your tires. The first video is a Tubular tire and the second is a Clincher. How to tell which you own? Easy, if your rims have fancy logo’s and are non-aluminum, most likely you have a Tubular!

Always good to review those vids as a reminder. I had enough flats this year…1 in a race, the rest on training rides..I have solid tires, I just kept finding very sharp things to run over.
